ATWOOD?--?Lucille Theresa (Marintzer) Solko was the sixth child born to Joseph and Mary (Huss) Marintzer on Aug. 28, 1916.
She passed away at the Good Samaritan Center in Atwood on Monday morning, Dec. 18, 2006, at the age of 90 years.
She grew up on the family farm west of Herndon along with her brothers Clemens, Alfred, Emery, Joseph, Raymond and Hubert, and her sister Aurelia.
On May 20, 1941, she was united in marriage to Albert Solko at St. Mary's Assumption Catholic Church in Herndon. To this union eight children were born, Samuel John, Donald Francis, Delmar Lee, Kenneth Joseph, Mary Ann, Patrick James, Jane Marie, and Alan Albert.
She was a member of St. Mary's Assumption Church and the Christian Mothers Altar Society. Her greatest interests in life included her family. She was a wonderful mother, a special grandmother and great-grandmother.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Albert in 1987, and her six brothers.
Those remaining to cherish her memories include her sister Aurelia Escher of Topeka, Kan.; children, Samuel of Ludell, Kan., Donald and wife, Diana of Herndon, Delmar of Herndon, Kenneth and wife, Gwen of McCook, Mary Ann Padget of McCook, Patrick and wife, Joy Lynn of Herndon, Jane Waterman and husband, Martin Jr. of Atwood and Alan and wife, Ann of Herndon; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be addressed in her name to the donor's choice, St. Mary's Assumption Church CMAS or Atwood Good Samaritan Center.
