Ethel E. Rogers

WICHITA, Kan. -- Ethel E. Rogers, 83, died Dec. 26, 2006) at Larksfield Place in Wichita.

She was born Sept. 11, 1923, in Topeka, Kan., to Neil and Edna (Randall) Rogers. She grew up on the family farm near Oberlin. She graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1941, Kansas State University with a degree in Mathematics, and from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., with an MBA.

She lived in McPherson from 1946-1958, where she taught math at McPherson High School. She moved to Wichita and was a mathematics professor at Wichita State University.

She was a member of the Central Christian Church, and Friends of the Wichita Public Library.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Neil and Edna Rogers and brothers, Wilbur and John Rogers.

Survivors include her sister, Mary Wilson and husband, John of Litchfield, Minn., and three nephews.

Graveside services will be Saturday, 2 p.m., in the Oberlin Cemetery, with the Rev. Keith Reuther officiating.

Memorials may be given to the Ethel Rogers Memorial Fund.

Pauls Funeral Home of Oberlin is in charge of arrangements.
