Bison sophomore teams sweep Lexington squads

LEXINGTON -- McCook's sophomore girls and boys basketball teams took on Lexington Thursday.

The Bison girls won their game 37-23 and the boys won 58-50.

"It took us one half to get back into the basketball playing mode after a long Christmas break," said Bison sophomore girls coach Lynne Kinne. "The girls played sparadic at times but once they settled down they won easily."

McCook's girls are 2-0 on the season.

Kali Lyons led the Bison team to the win with 11 points.

Audrie Krepcik and Ashley Palic both had 6 points and Amy Been and Sydney Jumps each had 4.

Ryan Hardin put in 17 points for the Bison sophomore boys against Lexington.

Mike Grabowski scored 12 points for the McCook sophomores and Jeff Lorentz added 11.

"We really started playing well the second quarter and put some seperation between us," said Bison sophomore boys coach Monte Else.

"In the fourth quarter, despite being in foul trouble, the men played with poise."
