ARAPAHOE -- David D. Mues, 53, died Monday (Jan. 1, 2007) at Bryan LGH Medical Center East in Lincoln.
He was born March 8, 1953, at McCook, to Donald E. and Maxine A. (Van Matre) Mues. He was raised on a farm near Edison and graduated from Arapahoe High School in 1971. He went one year to Kearney State College majoring in music.
He returned to Arapahoe, to help his father farm. They farmed together for 30 years. He married Roberta Lavalleur, they later divorced.
On Dec. 20, 1980, he married Shari Gengenbach at St. John's Lutheran Church in Eustis. They made their home at Arapahoe.
He was a member of the St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Arapahoe.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald E. Mues.
Survivors include his wife, Shari Mues of Arapahoe; mother, Maxine of Arapahoe; son, Phillip Mues of Arapahoe; three daughters, Heidi Mues of Arapahoe, Janelle McKinney and husband, Paul of Grand Island, and Michelle Carroll and husband, Tony of Central City; sister, Karen Lewis and husband, Norman of Edison; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Arapahoe, with the Rev. Jami Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the Arapahoe Cemetery.
