OBERLIN?-- Harold Olson 77, died Monday (Dec. 11, 2006) at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
He was born Nov. 25, 1929, in McPherson, Kan., to Nathan H. and Effie M.(Sallman) Olson. He grew up in Oberlin and attend Oberlin Elementary School. He graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1947. He then joined the U. S. Airforce.
On July 1, 1955, he married Marjorie M. Vernon. They lived in Oberlin where he worked as a Postal Clerk.
He was a member of the United Church of Oberlin
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Effie Olson.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie of Oberlin; two sons, Bruce and wife, Carmelita of Fountain, Colo., and Ward and wife, Jan of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one daughter, Connie Modin and husband, Jimmie of Durham, N.C.; two sisters, Esther Carlson and Dorothy Jackson, both of Oberlin; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin, with the Rev. Judy Stricker officiating. Interment will be in the Oberlin Cemetery.
Visitation is today until 8 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of service.
Memorials may be given in his name to the United Church of Oberlin or the Decatur County Museum.
