OBERLIN -- Victor G. Bryan, 88, died Sunday (Dec. 3, 2006) in Oberlin.

He was born Sept. 22, 1918, in Decatur County to Clarence S. and Lillie Mae (Sumner) Bryan. He grew up on a farm 10 miles southwest of Oberlin. He attended Logan School Dist. 87 and Decatur Community High School.

On Nov. 9, 1941, he married Opal I. Castle in Oberlin. They lived west of Oberlin, where he worked as a farmer. They moved to Oberlin in 1993.

He was a member of the Oberlin United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Lille Mae Bryan; and six brothers, Gilbert, Gerald, Glen, Gay, Guy and Wayne.

Survivors include his wife, Opal Bryan of Oberlin; two daughters, Sharon Slabaugh and husband, Marvin of Oberlin and Jeanne Britton and husband, Carlos of Northglenn, Colo.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Oberlin with the Rev. Doug Hasty officiating. Interment will be in the Oberlin Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. at Pauls Funeral Home and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Memorials may be given in his name.
