HILDRETH -- James R. Price, 55 years of age from Hildreth died on Tuesday (Nov. 21, 2006) peacefully in his sleep at his home. He was born June 28, 1951, in McCook to William Glenn and Laura Maxine (Broeder) Price. He grew up on the family farm in Stockville and graduated from Bartley High School in 1969. He graduated from Kearney State College in 1973.
He owned and operated Redman's Shoe Store in York, for many years. After selling Redman's Shoe Store, he moved back to Cambridge to live with and help care for his mother where he lived for over twelve years.
He moved to Hildreth in July 2006, to be closer to his nephew, Mike and his family. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, pheasant hunting, and watching sports. But most of all he enjoyed his nephew, niece and great nephews and loved being a part of their activities and lives.
Survivors include one sister, Sandra Condry of Lexington; two nephews, Mike Price and wife, Patty of Hildreth, and Mark Condry of Lexington; one niece, Laura Willets and husband, John of Cozad; two great nephews, Will and Mick Price; one aunt, Mildred (Broeder) Hoatson and husband, Fred of Hershey; one uncle, Lyle Broeder and wife, Janet of Hershey; two cousins, Claude Hoatson and wife, Kelly and children, Maddie and Colin of Hershey, and Blaine Hoatson and wife, Nancy and children, Riley and Adam of Hershey.
He was preceded in death by his brother Bill Price, his parents, and one aunt, Iola Broeder.
Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., at the United Church of Christ in Cambridge, with the Rev. Dana Keener officiating. Burial will be in the Stockville Cemetery.
Memorials are requested in lieu of flowers and are suggested to the family to be split among his favorite charities.
