Evelyn Effie Ploussard

Evelyn Effie Ploussard 94, died Monday (Nov. 20, 2006).

She was born in Red Willow County Jan. 25, 1912, to William and Lizzie (Munby) Witt. She attended country school though the eighth grade.

On Aug. 12, 1933, she married Frank J. Ploussard at a judge's house in Oberlin. They lived on the same farm that she was born until 1952, when they moved to McCook. 

In 1953, they moved to their farm in Decatur County. They moved back to McCook in Dec. 1964, due to Frank's health.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church since 1947. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lizzie; husband, Frank on Jan. 28, 1991; five brothers, Fred, Frank, Bert, Milton, and Clarence; three sisters, Ethyl Woods, Florence Wade, and Lulu Huntley.

Survivors include over 50 nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. Gary Brethour officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.  

Rosary will be Friday at 7 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home. Visitation is today until 5 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the rosary. Friends may sign her book at the funeral home or send condolences online at www.carpenterbreland.com.

Memorials may be given in her name to St. Patrick's Catholic Church or Highland Park.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
