STRATTON -- Margaret Ann (Pochop) Faimon, 78, died Friday (Nov. 17, 2006) at her rural home south of Stratton.
She was born May 22, 1928, on the homestead of Rudolph and Vincentia (Novotny) Pochop. She attended grade school in the one room school house near her family farm and graduated from Atwood High School in 1945.
On May 10, 1949, she married Stanley I. Faimon. She helped in the Christian Mother's Alter?Society at St. John's Catholic Church, CCD teacher, Parish Council and the El Poverello of the Plains Secular Franciscan Order Fraternity at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Stratton.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Stanley; parents, Rudolph and Vincentia; an infant brother and sister, Raymond and Agatha; three sisters, Mary Pochop Lorens, Agnes, and Helen Pochop Douthit; two brothers, Vincent and Ralph; and three brother-in-laws, Jim Douthit, Kenneth Demmer and Fred Lorens.
Survivors include her two sons, David and wife, Barbara and Stanley and wife, Becky; two daughters, Angela Faimon and Marian Peterson and husband, Jay; one sister, Angie Pochop Demmer; two brothers, Frank Pochop and wife, Elizabeth and Victor Pochop and wife, Lucy; three sisters-in-law, Lillian Faimon Sramek, Alice Cahoj Faimon and Jean Pochop; seven grandchildren; and numerous niece, nephews cousins and friends.
A Concelebration Mass of Christian Bural was today at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in rural Atwood, with the Rev. Galen Long, Sean Redmond and Felix Petrovsky, OFM, Cap officiating. Interment was in the St. John's Cemetery.
Memorials may be given in her name to the Capuchins of Mid American Province, St. John's Cemetery Fund, St. Joseph's Building Fund in Stratton and the Red Cross.
