PHILLIPSBURG, Kan. --?Walter Von Simmonds, 72, died Saturday (Nov. 11, 2006) at Phillips County Hospital in Phillipsburg.
He was born April 27, 1934, in Agra, Kan., to Albert and Agnes (Schoonover) Simmonds.
On May 8, 1955, he married Donna Douglass in Kensington, Kan. He worked as a truck driver for Dayco before retiring.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Donna; four sons, Ronald of Estherville, Iowa, Rodney of Topeka, Kan., Lonnie of Gillette, Wyo., and Michael of McCook; one daughter, Javonna Monzon of Lakeside, Calif.; four brothers, Rex, Linden and Jim all of Topeka, Kan., and Dick of Loveland, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m., at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel in Phillipsburg, with the Rev. Joel Hiesterman officiating. Burial will follow in the Agra Cemetery in Agra, Kan.
Visitation is today until 9 p.m., and Tuesday from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Memorials may be given in his name.
