KENNESAW-- Charles W. Fickle 82, formerly of Culbertson, died Wednesday (Nov. 1, 2006) at Haven Home in Kennesaw.

He was born Dec. 23, 1923, to James T. and Opal L. (Watt) Fickle at Lima, Ohio. He graduated from Shawnee High School in Lima in 1942.

He joined the U.S Army in 1942. After he was honorably discharged in 1946, he worked for several businesses as a truck driver until 1975. He then started working for Dayco Rubber Hose Plant until he retired in 1985.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Opal Fickle, and three sisters, Helen, Mary and Icie.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann of McCook; one daughter, LeAnn Frick and huband, Elmer of McCook; three sons, Dale Fickle and wife, Virginia of Culbertson, James Fickle and wife, Kathy of Bartley, and Charles Fickle of Escondido, Calif.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Monday 2 p.m., at Carpenter Breland Funeral Chapel with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating. Inurnment will be in the Culbertson Cemetery with military honors.
