Maxine Ross died Sunday (Oct. 29, 2006) at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook at the age of 76.
She was born July 19, 1930, on the family farm, the daughter of the late Edward and Elsie (Albrecht) Leitner. She grew up on the family homestead southwest of McCook.
On Dec. 16, 1945, she married Donald Hodson. To this union three children were born.
She married Porter Ross on Oct. 20, 1990. she spent her life on the family farm where she enjoyed her family, her grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending winters in Texas with her husband and many camping friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Loy Hodson in May 2004, and one sister, Doris Jones in 1995.
Survivors include her husband, Porter Ross of McCook; one daughter Connie Grove and husband, Don of Edison; one son, Scott Hodson and wife, Carol of Kearney; one step-son, Jim Ross and wife, Bonnie of McCook; a daughter-in-law, Judy Hodson of McCook; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Barney Leitner and wife, Lola of McCook; three brothers-in-law, Ed Ross, Ralph Ross and wife, Sue, and Tom Ross and wife, Donnie; two sisters-in-law, Helen Pricer and Lillian Ross; nieces; nephews; and numerous relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Wednesday 2 p.m., at Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook, with the Rev. Eddie Wright officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials may be given in her name and friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
