GRAND ISLAND (AP) -- McCook High School junior Justine Hager went from a 16th-place tie on Monday to an 11th-place tie on Tuesday at the Nebraska Class B state girls golf tournament.

The Class B girls state tournament was played at Grand Island's Riverside Golf Club.

Hager, who was competing in her third state tournament, shot a 93 in the first round Monday, but improved to an 89 in Tuesday's second round to finish with a 182 score.

Hager tied for 10th place at state last year as a junior. She shot a 191 score (90-91). As a freshman in 2004, Hager posted a 191 score (92-99).

Hastings' Sara Wissing beat out first-round leader Terrin Wells of Sidney on the final hole to win her school's first individual girls golf title.

Wissing's 36-hole total of 164 was one ahead of Wells. Scottsbluff won its second team title in four years, finishing with a 728, 10 strokes better than runners-up Beatrice and Hastings.

"It's pretty cool (to win a title) with this group of kids," Scottsbluff coach Mike Klein said. "Our two seniors led us and our sophomores improved unbelievably since last year. I'm just proud of them."

Omaha Marian's Mary Narzisi repeated as individual champion and the Crusaders as team champions in the Class A girls state golf tournament on Tuesday at Indianhead Golf Club.

Narzisi defended her individual championship by shooting a 78 for a two-round total of 153, beating Grand Island's Abby Bartlett by six strokes.

"Mary has worked all year really hard," Marian coach Faye Ford said. "Her goal was to come out and repeat. She had some pressure on her. She had some college coaches out here yesterday and today looking at her, and that has to put a little pressure on you."

The Crusaders placed all five of their golfers in the top 14 to finish with a two-day title of 660, 45 strokes better than runner-up Grand Island.

In Class C at Jackrabbit Run, Minden claimed its fourth state title in the past five years despite having just one golfer earn a medal with a 14th-place finish. That was Lauren Gokie, who shot 92 and 89 for a 182 total.

"I didn't know if we'd have any individual medalists," Minden coach Steve Exstrom said. "Like I said after districts, this is a team, and the team concept in Minden comes first. All the individual accolades, the girls like them, but they couldn't care less if they get them or not because the team comes first."

Minden now owns a Class C record five state titles, previously winning in 1998, 2002, 2003 and 2004.

Katie Keiser of Gothenburg shot a second-round 82 after opening Monday with an 81. Her 163 total was 4 shots ahead of Heather McCabe of Plainview and Candace Harless of Bridgeport.

"It was raining again, so I felt it was kind of to my advantage again because I guess I play well in the rain," Keiser said. "It rained a lot heavier today and toward the second nine, it got a lot colder and the ball wouldn't fly as far, so you had to take an extra club."
