KEARNEY?-- Anita S. Werkmeister, 93, of Kearney, formerly of Curtis and Maywood, died Friday (Sept. 29, 2006) at St. Lukes Good Samaritan Village in Kearney.
She was born April 12, 1913, at Kennard Louie and Martha Kaknk Luschen. On April 12, 1934, she married Walter Werkmeister in McCook. They lived their entire life in and around Maywood and Curtis.
She worked at Sun Haven Nursing Home in Curtis for 12 years and Curtis Technical School for seven years. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Her loss will be felt deeply by all who knew her.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty (Norbert) Klumpe of Maywood; her son, Jim and wife, Barb of Kearney; five grandchildren, Randy Klumpe and wife, Penny of Hayes Center, Steve Werkmeister and wife, Brenda of Overland Park, Kan., Susan Brott and husband, Joel of Lincoln, Kelly Werkmeister of Overland Park, Kan., and Angie Werkmeister of Kearney; 7 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter; and a son, Gary Werkmeister.

Services will be Tuesday at 1 :30 p.m. at Adams and Swanson Chapel in North Platte, with the Rev. Dereck Bek officiating.
Visitation will be today until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
