McCook Balloon Fest launches new Web site

Thursday, September 28, 2006

Working to become one of Nebraska's leading family events, event coordinators recently launched a new web site on the world wide web to promote McCook Balloon Fest.

Experiencing more than 40,000 hits within its first month, mccook balloonfest.com has quickly captured an audience of balloon enthusiasts across the globe.

As a collaborative project between John Kugler and Khris Krepcik, the site has been developed to track and measure results in fine detail to ensure that it is constantly reaching the right viewers.

Joining the ranks of great ballooning events such as the Colorado Balloon Classic and the Rocky Mountain Balloon Festival, McCook Balloon Fest has the potential to really draw attention to Southwest Nebraska.

Modern hot air ballooning got its start in Nebraska with the first man-carrying free flight taking place in Bruning on Oct. 10, 1960.

Since that time, the sport has grown to attract a global following, and the new Web site is already attracting viewers from as far away as Australia.

What could this mean for Southwest Nebraska?

More visitors this fall to a free family event and to the McCook community.

McCook Balloon Fest is scheduled for Oct. 28-29.
