Placzek struck out seven and walked two. Her senior teammate Michelle McKenna knocked in the first run of the game with double off the fence. Both were honored on senior night at the Jaycee Complex.

In the third, McCook scored two more runs when Jessica Einsphar was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning.
She then stole second with one out. Austin Wilson then hit a triple to drive her in and Lexington mishandled the relay on which Wilson came home as well.
In the fourth, Marissa Wallace led off with a walk. She was sacrificed to second on Danae McCorkle's bunt. Kali Lyons singled her home for the Fourth run of the game. Lyons then stole second and third when Jessica Einsphar singled her in. Einsphar then stole second base followed by Kody Korus's RBI single to make the score six to zero.
Placzek then went to work the last three innings against Lexington only allowing an infield hit the rest of the way and striking out three. Austin Wilson ended with three hits including a triple, Ashley Carfield had two hits, Michelle McKenna had the big triple and Einsphar, Korus, Hailey Koetter, Lyons all had base hits.
"This was a nice way for the two seniors to out on their last game at home," Coach Dale Lortz said.
"They both have been very special to the softball program at McCook. We did not play our best game making a couple of errors, but I thought we did a good job of putting pressure on Lexington offensively," he concluded.
McCook's next game will be at Kearney on Thursday at 6:30.
On Saturday, McCook is top seed in the Greater Nebraska Athletic Conference softball tournament at the Smith Softball Complex in Hastings.
US 939 with Steve Stein will broadcast the first game, against eighth-seed Lexington at 10 a.m., with Coyote Country 105.3 carrying the second game at noon and the third at 2 p.m.
Second-seeded Kearney plays seventh-seed Hastings in the opening round, third-seed Norfolk faces sixth seed North Platte and fourth seed Columbus plays fifth seed Scottsbluff.
The Bison girls are ranked No. 5 Class B in the Omaha World Herald and Lincoln Journal Star, and 10th all-class in the World-Herald.
