HOLDREGE?-- Marcia Inell Carbaugh, 86, died Monday (Sept. 4, 2006) at the Holdrege Memorial Home.
She was born Feb. 26, 1920, in Elwood, to Cyrus "Mac" and Jenny (Bell) Casebolt. She graduated from Elwood High School in 1939 as valedictorian and received her teaching certificate from Kearney State College.
She married Edgar Carbaugh on Dec. 11, 1941, in Las Vegas, Nev. She taught country school for several years. She also worked as nurse's aide in Cambridge and at Becton-Dickinson in Holdrege until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar in 1995; her parents; two sons, Jon Carbaugh in 1995 and Aaron in infancy; one sister, Louise Kimmel; and an infant brother, Albert.
Survivors include her three sons, Jerry of Holdrege, Alan and Lee of Fort Worth, Texas; three daughters, Linda Leisure of Omaha, Nancy Judd and husband, Rick of McCook, and Marlene Pascoe of Grand Island; a brother-in-law, Jesse Carbaugh and wife, Gen of Lincoln; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Holdrege, with the Rev. Buck Linton-Hendrick officiating. Following the funeral, her body will be cremated. Inurnment will be at a later date.
Visitation is today until 9 p.m., with the family greeting from 7-8:30 p.m. at Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.
