BEAVER?CITY?--?Alice Louise Bobbitt, 78, died Tuesday (Aug. 29, 2006) at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

She was born Aug. 8,1928, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Raymond and Esther (Hawk) Allen. She grew up in Des Moines, and graduated from Des Moines High School in 1946.

On Aug. 26, 1947, she married Frank Bobbitt in Des Moines. They served as ministers to Christian Churches in Canada, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, McCook, and other Nebraska locations.

They also served the Presbyterian Churches in Lemoyne and Keystone from 1986-1991 and the Methodist Churches in Cambridge, Alma and Republican City, before retiring in 1994 and moving to Beaver City. They served the Methodist Churches in Hendley and Wilsonville after retirement.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Church Bible Study group, and the Kitchen Queens Extension Club in Beaver City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank on Nov. 20, 2002; two granddaughters, Chelsey and Charlye Kehler; and a grandson, Gordon Russel, Jr.

Survivors include her two sons, Charles and wife, Janis of Mishawaka, Ind., and Chet of Beaver City; three daughters, Cheryl Russel and husband, Gordon Sr., of Rocky Mount, Mo., Charlene Kehler of Beaver City, and Chanda Gilbert of Broken Arrow, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great granchild.

Graveside services will be prior to memorial services on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the Mount Hope Cemetery at Beaver City. Memorial Services will follow at 10:30 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church in Beaver City, with the Rev. Keith Theobald officiating.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City.
