Mary Annabelle Welp, 73, died Wednesday (Aug. 30, 2006) at Community Hospital in McCook.
She was born April 5, 1933, in McCook to the Adolph A. and Minnie Elvina (Seeman) Weskamp. She grew up in McCook where she received her education at St. Patrick's School.
On Dec. 24, 1950, she married Melvin Gilbert Welp at McCook. They owned and operated Mel's Marine for over 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin on Jan. 11, 2005; five brothers, Cecil Weskamp, Clarence Weskamp, Raymond Weskamp, Andrew Weskamp and Eli Weskamp; and five sisters, Hazel Matson, Ruth Thomas, Grace Fette, Helen Goodwin, and Virginia Taylor.
She is survived by her two sisters, Evelyn Ljungvall of Golden, Colo., and Louise Rozman of Fort Collins, Colo.; a sister-in-law, Elva Garland of Foley, Mo.; special friends, George and Peggy Pearson; guardians, George and Sylvia Patterson; god-children, Kathy Kinkade and husband, Kelly, Harold Pearson and wife, Lori, Tonda Simmonds and husband, Mike all of McCook, Dan Pearson and family of Culbertson, Cindy Moore and husband, Stan of Bartley and Duane Patterson and wife, Kathy of Lakewood, Colo.; and numerous god-grandchildren, relatives and friends.
Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Herrmann Memorial Chapel
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Patricks Catholic Church in McCook, with the Rev. Gary Brethour officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook.
