WALLACE -- Richard Anderson, 70, died Sunday (Aug. 27, 2006) at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.

He was born June 1, 1936, south of Wallace to Howard and Clara Lee Anderson. He attended high school at the Curtis School of Agriculture and graduated in 1954.

He married Wanda Hastings on Oct. 10, 1956. He worked for Missouri Valley Construction and served as a highway superintendent in Hayes and Gosper county and maintained a farm south of Wallace. He also worked as an over- the- road truck driver. He retired in 2000 and moved to the Buffalo Manor in North Platte.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Morris; an infant brother and sister; and infant twin granddaughters.

Survivors include his daughters, Diane Priest and husband, Marc of McCook, Brenda Branstiter and husband, Tim of Grand Island, Donna Ehrlich and husband, Jeff of Wichita, Kan., and Doris Chevalier and husband, Tim of Sutherland; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 2 p.m. at the Wallace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Anne Gatobu officiating. Burial will follow in the Wallace Cemetery.
