ARAPAHOE -- Dorothy Evelyn Remington, 86, died Tuesday (Aug. 15, 2006) at the C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center in Arapahoe.
She was born Jan. 12, 1920, at Eustis to Walter and Mabel (Mills) Nelson. She was raised in Holbrook and attended school at Holbrook Public Schools.
On Feb. 8, 1939, she married Robert Earl Remington at the United Methodist Church in Holbrook. They made their home in Holbrook, until 1958 when they moved to Early, Iowa, where her husband worked as a veterinarian.
In 1988 they moved to Sunshine Village in Arapahoe. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Holbrook.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; one brother, Sam Nelson; and a sister, Nora Tirrill.
Survivors include her son Douglas and wife, Cyndee of Fort Collins, Colo.; two daughters, Dolores Glanzer and husband, Jon of Holbrook and Kay Green and husband, Larry of St. Croix, Virgin Islands; one sister, Velma and husband, Barney Millard of Hastings; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Holbrook, with the Rev. Dale Whitson officiating. Burial will follow at the Holbrook Cemetery.
