KEARNEY?-- Jean Richards, 84, died Sunday (Aug. 13, 2006) at St. Luke's Samaritan Village of Kearney.
She was born Aug. 21, 1921, in Lexington, to Claret and Essie (Rodgers) Horn. She grew up in the area and graduated from Eddyville High School in 1939. On Jan. 16, 1943, she married Paul F. Richards in North Platte.
They farmed and ranched near the Eddyville area, until moving to Eddyville in 1987. After the death of her husband, she moved to Kearney in 1992.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; and one brother, Tom Horn.
Survivors include her three sons, Jay Dee and wife, P.J. of McCook, Bill and wife, Lois of Elwood, and Jim and wife, Robin of Eddyville; two daughters, Trudy Kuebler and husband, Gary of Eddyville and Rhonda Richards of North Platte; a son-in-law Ron Johanson of North Platte; one sister-in-law, Gerry Horn of Omaha;15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Horner-Lieske-Horner Mortuary in Kearney with C. J. Willis officiating. Burial will be in the Kearney Cemetery.
