EDEN?PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Martha Rose "Marty" (Albert) Haupt, 79, died July 8, 2006, in Eden Prairie, Minn.
She was born Feb. 6, 1927, to Henry and Maxie (Gias) Albert in Culbertson. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Culbertson High School in 1945.
She attended Nebraska Wesleyan University, before moving to Los Angelas while receiving her airline training. She became an airline stewardess in 1951 for Northwest Orient Airline, based in Minneapolis.
In 1953, she was transferred to Seattle, where she met and married Ed Haupt. She became a homemaker. In 1963, they moved back to Minneapolis. In 1972, she began to work for the March of Dimes. After her retirement in 1989, she spent winters in South Padre Island, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant siblings; three sisters, Freida Carter, Lydia Murray and Helen Lucas; and brothers-in-law Marion Carter and Walter Lucas.
Survivors included her sons, Jeff and Jay; daughter-in-law, Jamie; three sisters, Esther Gallavan and husband, Pat; Marian Falconer and husband, Bob; Jolene McInnis and husband, Jerry; one brother, Ken and wife, Myrna; brother-in-law, Neil Murray; and one granddaughter.
Inurnment is tentatively set for Sept. 2, in the Culbertson Cemetery.
