LEOVILLE, Kan. -- MaryAnn Zodrow, 81, died Tuesday (Aug. 1, 2006) at Decatur Community Hospital.
She was born March 26, 1925, south of Leoville, Kan., to Bernard "Ben" and Barbara (Geisinger) Kruse. She was raised in the Leoville Community and attended Green Valley School and graduated from Leoville High School in 1945.
On Feb. 18, 1946, she married Conrad Zodrow in Leoville. They operated the Leoville Grocery for five years, the Leoville Post Office until 1981 and a dairy until 1999.
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Altar Society and Daughters of Isabelle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Conrad; parents, Bernard and Barbara; and two sisters, Loretta Woodall and Rita Kruse.
Survivors include her three sons, Joe and wife, Rone of Leoville, Tom and wife, Michelle, of Grapevine, Texas, and Paul Zodrow of Selden; two daughters, Pat Conrad and husband, Ed of Hoxie and Sharon Karnes and husband, Keith of LaCrosse; one brother, Joe and wife, Janice of Selden; two sisters, Florence Zodrow of Leoville and Germaine Wels and husband, Ray of Dresden; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Leoville, with the Rev. Henry Saw Lone officiating. Interment will be at the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Leoville.
Visitation is today until 5 p.m. at Pauls Funeral home in Selden, from 6-8 p.m. at the church in Leoville and Friday from 8 a.m. until the time of service. A vigil service is today at 7 p.m. at the church.
Memorials may be given in her name.
