STRATTON -- Nova Carolyn Dailey, 99, died Wednesday (July 26, 2006) at El Dorado Manor in Trenton.
She was born July 6, 1907, to Axel E. and Mary Ann (Weller) Danielson, while her parents were visiting family in Dorchester. She attended school in Stratton and was a member of the graduating class of Stratton High School in 1927.
On Aug. 17, 1927, she married Elmer Dailey at Wray, Colo. They lived on a farm northwest of Stratton.
She was an 85-year member of the Methodist Church, and a 64-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a charter member of the Busy Bee Club, a member of the United Methodist Women, and a Gold Star Sister. She served as a volunteer at Grandview Retirement Center until her health failed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Axel and Mary Ann Danielson; her husband, Elmer Dailey; brother, Evald; son, Robert Dailey; daughter, Charlotte Wyss; grandsons, John Dailey and Kurt Dailey; and one great-granddaughter, Maggie Eden.
Survivors include sons, Neil Dailey and wife, Beverly of Las Cruces, N.M., and Jim Dailey and wife, Wyona of Stratton; son-in-law, Howard Wyss, also of Stratton; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at Community United Methodist Church in Stratton with the Rev. Brian Fong officiating. Interment will follow services at Rose Hill Cemetery near Stratton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her name to Community United Methodist Church or Grandview Retirement Center, both of Stratton.
Arrangements are under the direction of Forch Funeral Chapel of Stratton.
