MFL winners: Eagles, Redskins, Ravens, Chiefs
The Redskins in the Grade 5-6 division and the Ravens in the Grade 7-8 division are unbeaten at 2-0 after McCook Football League action Tuesday night at Weiland Field.
In the Grade 5-6 division, the Eagles defeated the Rams 20-0 and the Redskins defeated the Cowboys 19-0.
Monday's MFL article in the Gazette incorrectly listed the Eagles as the Jets.
In the Grade 7-8 division, the Ravens defeated the Raiders 19-6 and the Chiefs needed overtime to defeat the Colts 7-6.
In the Eagles' win over the Rams, Austin Cherry scored two touchdowns -- a 43-yard run and a 65-yard interception return.
Zach Gillen scored on a 49-yard TD run. Gavin Harsh added two PAT runs.
In the Redskins' win over the Cowboys, Cody Jankovits scored on a 20-yard run and Jake Schlager scored two TDs on runs of 75 and 4 yards. Vince Lyons added a PAT run.
In the Ravens' win over the Raiders, Clive Brown scored on a pair of 16-yard TD runs and Justin Malleck returned a fumble 12 yards for another TD and added a PAT run. Keith Wallace put the Raiders on the board with a 46-yard run.
The Chiefs-Colts game was scoreless until the overtime period. Drew Harms hooked up with Tyler Rogers on a 90-yard TD pass, but the PAT failed.
The Chiefs' Gus Peterson scored from 27 yards out and won the game with the PAT run.
The season concludes Thursday with four more games.
The Redskins lead the Grade 5-6 division with a 2-0 record. The Rams, Cowboys and Eagles are 1-1.
The Ravens lead the Grade 7-8 division with a 2-0 record. The Raiders and Chiefs are 1-1, followed by the Colts at 0-2.
In the grade 5-6 division, the Rams will play the Redskins at 6 p.m., followed by Cowboys vs. Eagles at 7 p.m.
In the grade 7-8 division, Colts vs. Ravens at 8 p.m., followed by Chiefs vs. Raiders at 9 p.m.
