MFL season kicks off with 4 games

The McCook Football League kicked off the season last Friday with four games under the lights at Weiland Field.

In the grade 5-6 division, the Rams defeated the Cowboys 7-6 and the Redskins shut out the Jets 6-0.

In the grade 7-8 division, the Raiders defeated the Colts 13-6 and the Ravens beat the Chiefs 13-7 in overtime.

In the Rams' win over the Cowboys, all the scoring took place in the first quarter.

Cody Wudtke scored on a 2-yard run and added the extra point run for the Rams. Riley Garey scored the Cowboys' TD on a 4-yard run. The PAT was missed.

In the Redskins' win over the Jets, Jake Schlager scored the game's only TD on an 11-yard run. The PAT was missed.

In the Raiders' win over the Colts, Keith Wallace scored on a 7-yard TD run in the first quarter. The PAT failed.

Kyle Craw threw a 70-yard TD pass to Joe Kenny and Wallace scored the extra point.

The Colts got on the scoreboard on a 42-yard TD pass from Drew Harris to Tyler Rogers. The PAT failed.

The Ravens defeated the Chiefs when Clive Brown scored on a 10-yard TD run in the overtime period.

The Ravens scored the first TD on a 68-yard TD pass from Brad Baumbach to Ryan Powell. Justin Malleck scored the extra point.

The Chiefs scored on an 8-yard TD pass from Tanner Steingard to Gus Peterson, who also scored the extra point.

Four games will be played Tuesday night at Weiland Field.

In the grade 5-6 division, the Rams will play the Eagles at 6 p.m., followed by Cowboys vs. Redskins at 7 p.m.

In the grade 7-8 division, Raiders vs. Ravens at 8 p.m., followed by Chiefs vs. Colts at 9 p.m.

The season concludes Thursday with four more games.

In the grade 5-6 division, the Rams will play the Redskins at 6 p.m., followed by Cowboys vs. Eagles at 7 p.m.

In the grade 7-8 division, Colts vs. Ravens at 8 p.m., followed by Chiefs vs. Raiders at 9 p.m.
