BEAVER?CITY?-- Lyle Joe Meader 75, died Wednesday (July 12, 2006) at the Beaver City Manor in Beaver City.
He was born Oct. 2, 1930, near Holbrook, to Charles W. and Mabel (Fears) Meader. He graduated from Holbrook High School in 1947.
He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1952 for a two year enlistment finishing his duties with the U.S. Marine Reserve being discharged in 1960.
He worked as an over the road truck driver, back hoe operator and on small engine repair. He returned to Nebraska due to health reasons and to be close to family.
He was married to his wife Wilma, June 21, 1962.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Wilma of 30 years; brothers, Vaughn, Charles JR., Gordon, Glenn, Donald, and Howard; and a sister Wilda Stanley.
Survivors include two brothers, Richard and wife Sharon Meader of Holdrege; Larry and wife Ann of Anchorage, Alaska; sister-in-law Margie Meader of Holbrook; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services are tentatively planned for July 25, at the Beaver City Manor. Inurnment will be held at the Wilsonville Cemetery with military honors at a later date.
