Angels take Midget League championship

That Other Floor Store Angels earned the Championship title in the McCook Midget Baseball Cubs tournament, that started on Thursday. The Angels the MNB Astros 8-0 for the title.

First round

Union Bank Rockies 11, McCook Eye Clinic Orioles 1

Brandon Kofler had three singles and Jake Schlager had two singles and a double for the Rockies. Hunter Felker and Josh Escher both had a single for the Orioles.

MNB Astros 13, Sears Red Sox 9

Robin Suda hit a double and a single and Tyson Karr had three singles for the Astros. Sean Baker had two singles and Austin Blane had three for the Red Sox.

That Other Floor Store Angels 8, Wagner White Sox 0

Jake Fahrenbruch earned a homerun, a double and a single and teammate Spencer Bruntz had a double and a single for the Angels. Justin Terry hit a double and Brandon Lucas had a single for the White Sox.

Second Round

MNB Astros 10, D&S Hardware Cubs 3

Tyson Karr hit a triple and a double and teammate Jacob Ruppert had two singles for the Astros. Kyle Groshong had three singles and Tristan Thomas had two for the Cubs.

Wagner Chevrolet White Sox 5, Parker Hannifin Yankees 0

Justin Terry led the White Sox with two triples and Spencer Van Pelt had a single. Mack Alspaugh and Matt Chitwood both had two singles for the Yankees.

Sports Shoppe Nationals 7, Neins Indians 6

Cody Jankovitz had two singles and Graham Chistopherson had one for the Nationals. Sam Osterman earned a triple and a single and Trevor Van Pelt had a single and a double for the Indians.

Saturday

McCook Eye Clinic Orioles 11, D&S HArdware Cubs 6

Andrew Conway and Conner Stamm both had two singles. Cody Wudtke had two singles and Cory Engle had one for the Cubs.

Neins Indians 15, Parker Hannifin Yankees 4

Zach Herrman and Devin Sughroue both had three singles for the Indians. Matt Chitwood had two singles and Austin Swartz had one for the Yankees.

MNB Astros 6, Sports Shoppe Nationals

Garret Sides hit a double and two singles and James Kain had two singles for the Astros. Cody Jankovitz hit a single and Tyler Cuellar had two for the Nationals.

Wagner Chevrolet White Sox 5, McCook Eye Clinic Orioles 1

Justin Terry and Derek Miller both had two singles for the White Sox. Kalan Stamm had two singles and Logan Koetter had one for the Orioles.

Brian Calvin had a double and Tanner Powell had a double and a single for the Red Sox. Tommy Slater had three singles and Austin Miller had one for the Indians.

Spencer Burkey and Jake Farenbruch both had two singles for the Angels. Nick Alberts had two singles and Brandon Kofler had one for the Rockies.

Brandon Lucas had two singles and Spencer Van Pelt hit a double and two singles for the White Sox. Dylan Samway had two singles and Alex Broadfoot had a double for the Nationals.

Jake Schlager and Sky Kalinski both had a double and two singles for the Rockies. James Knowles had a triple and Clayton Korus had two singles for the Red Sox.

The Astros and the Angels started the final round, with the Astros taking the win. The White Sox and the Rockies played in the second game, with the Rockies winning 6-0. The Rockies then moved up to take on the Angels falling 5-1. Once again the Astros and the Angels squared off. The Angels won both final games to take the championship.

Colton Brown and Aaron Hopkins both had a single for the Astros. Spencer Bruntz had three singles and Alex Roe had two for the Angels.

Sky Kalinski led the Rockies with a homerun and a single and teammate Wes Burkert had two singles. Ben Skiles and Derek Miller both had a single for the White Sox.
