Jordan Benjamin Niermeier

LUDELL Kan. -- Jordan B. Niermeier, 22, died Saturday (July 8, 2006), at Rawlins County Health Center.

He was born July 2, 1983, to E. Niles and Jayne Niermeier. He was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church of Ludell on Sept. 4, 1983 and confirmed on May 10, 1998.

He resided on the family farm north of Ludell. He worked for Reeves Fumigation and was studying to be a state-certified grain fumigation specialist.

He attended Atwood Grade School and graduated from Atwood High School in 2002. He then attended Fort Hays State University on an athletic track scholarship. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and was involved with the Lutheran Youth Group during his high school years.

He traveled the countryside working for Tap Enterprises.

He is survived by his parents, Niles and Jayne; sister Amber; and his grandparents Harry and Paula Kastens.

Funeral services are Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Atwood with the Rev. Dennis A. Kastens officiating.

Graveside services and interment will be at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Ludell.

Memorials may be addressed the the L.Y. F. Youth Group or Rawlins County High School Track Improvement Fund and may be left at the funeral home.

Visitation will be today until 8 p.m at the funeral chapel and after 9 a.m. on Tuesday at the church until service time.

Williams Funeral Home of Atwood is in charge of arrangements.
