A's 1-1 on 2nd day of Sparkler tourney

DENVER -- The Nebraska A's went 1-1 at the The A's are competing in the 16 and under division at the 800-team Triple Crown Sparkler fastpitch softball tournament Wednesday at Denver.

The Nebraska A's were in Day 2 of pool play with Rockland, N.Y. The A's won 5-0.

Hitting for the A's was Stevie Swedberg, Michelle McKenna, Marissa Wallace all with one hit. Jen Favinger had 2 hits and Danae McCorkle had a double. McKenna and Kirstie Hiatt eacdh scored twice and Jen Favinger scored once.

Pitching for the A's was Hiatt with four strikeouts, no walks and no runs allowed.

The A's lost to the Arizona Roadrunners 6-0 in their second pool play game.

Pitching for the A's was Marissa Wallace. She allowed three runs on six hits, struck out threeand walked none. Hiatt pitched in relief with one strikeout, four hits and three runs.

Hitting for the A's were Jen Favinger and Jamie Robinson each with one hit.

The A's started tournament play at 11 a.m. Thursday.
