CENTRALIA, Mo. -- Elizabeth Jane Crocker, age 82, of Centralia, Mo., died unexpectedly at her home June 13, 2006. She was born July 21, 1923, at Cedar Bluffs, Kan., the daughter of Herman and Serena (Zimmerman) Messinger.
On June 2, 1947, she was married in McCook to Donald Frederick Crocker and he preceded her in death Sept. 15, 1986.
Survivors include three sons, James Donald "Jim" Crocker and wife, Deanna, Terry Gene Crocker and wife, Patty, Brian Cary Crocker and wife, Dawn, all of Centralia; seven grandchildren, Jamey Crocker and wife, Susan of Indianapolis, Ind., Patrick Crocker and wife, Julie of St. Louis, Mo., Jeremy Crocker of Columbia, Mo., Brandon Frederick Crocker, Christopher Matthew Crocker, Rustin D.F. Crocker and Alerey Grace Crocker, all of Centralia; three great-grandchildren, James Crocker, Ethan Crocker and Dereck Crocker; one sister Ruth Joy and husband Wayne; and two brothers, Willard Messinger and wife, Eva and Merlin Messinger and wife, Eunice, all of McCook.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Elizabeth Crocker was an active member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, former member of St. Ann's Ladies Sodality of the church and served as organist for many years. She was also a member of the Centralia Garden Club and served as a Pink Lady at Audrain Medical Center in Mexico, Mo. She attended college in McCook and was employed as a secretary at various department stores.
Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Friday, June 16, at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Centralia, with Monsignor Charles Patterson and Father Rob Fields officiating. Interment was in Glendale Memorial Gardens at Centralia.
