OBERLIN?-- Frank A. Cameron, 89, died Thursday (June 15, ,2006) at Wesley Towers Long Term Care in Hutchinson.
He was born March 29, 1917, to Loe and Anna (Broadbent) Cameron in Dresden, Kan. He attended school at Dresden and graduated high school there.
He served as a Sergeant during World War II.
On May 13, 1939, he married Pearl McMann. The couple made their home in both Colby and Oberlin. He worked as the Oberlin City Superintendent and managed a hardware store.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Oberlin and the Oberlin American Legion Post No. 70.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl; four brothers, Lyle, Roy, Orville and Bob Cameron; two sisters, Opa Peoples and Betty Strickland; and a great-grandson, Jonah Hagar.
Survivors include his son, Don and wife, Susan Cameron of Hutchinson, Kan.; two daughters, Carol Styles and husband, Doyle of Oberlin; Dorene Hager and husband, Richard of Dodge City, Kan.; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, at the Oberlin United Methodist Church with the Rev. Doug Hasty officiating. Burial will be in the Oberlin Cemetery.
Visitation will be today until 8 p.m. at the Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin, and Saturday, 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
Memorials may be given in his name to Decatur County Hospital of Wesley Towers.
