OBERLIN?-- Nona Darlene Stanley, 81, died Saturday (June 10, 2006) at Community Hospital of McCook. She was born Jan. 13, 1925, in Furnas County, Neb., to Guy and Louisa (Burt) Dillan. She was raised in Furnas County, near Wilsonville and graduated from Wilsonville High School.
She lived in Wilsonville until 2001, when she moved to Oberlin. She was a kennel owner and operator.
She was a member of the National Greyhound Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Phillip; a daughter-in-law, Helen Stanley; a brother, Robert "Chub" Dillan and four sisters, Goldie "Sis" Connor, Maudie Penny, Delores Meader and Rudy Tague.
Survivors include two sons, Butch Stanley of Oberlin and Doug and wife, Ilene Sanley of Hayesville, Kan.; a daughter, Pat and husband, Ray Tuller of McCook; two sisters, Neva Stanley of Cambridge, and Evelyn "Punk"?Schneider of Sutton; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, at the Wilsonville Cemetery with the Rev. James Denny officiating.
Visitation is 9 a.m., to noon Wednesday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family has established a memorial fund for her great-grandchildren's education.
