OBERLIN? -- Eva Marie Vacura, 80, died Monday ( May 29, 2006) at Decatur Community Hospital in Oberlin.
She was born March 5, 1926, in Jennings, to Vernon and Stella (Hopkins) Chance and attend grade school and high school in Jennings.
On March 19, 1947, she married Anton Vacura in Jennings. She lived on the family farm until three years after her husband's death. She then moved to Norton for a short time before moving to Oberlin. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the ZBCJ Lodge No. 153, Royal Neighbors, and the Jennings Quilt Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and an infant son, Randy Leroy Vacura.
Survivors include a son, Bernie Vacura, and wife, Othelia of Oberlin; a brother, Merle Chance, and wife, Ruth of Jennings; four granchildren; two step grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
There will be a private burial services. Burial will be at Big Timber in Decature County.
Visitation will be Thursday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m. to noon.
Memorials may be made to the Bohemian Hall or the Decatur County Museum.
