She was born March 10, 1937, in Gosper County, the daughter of the late Cornelius S. and Clara Emily (Ziebell) Wendland. She grew up on the family farm north of Arapahoe and graduated from Arapahoe High School in 1955.
On May 14, 1957, she married Lyle Dean Blauvelt at Arapahoe. They made their home in Arapahoe until moving to McCook on March 16, 1966. She was employed at Hinky Dinky and Country Corner grocery stores, as well as secretary of her husband's insurance business.
They enjoyed their trips to Hawaii, the Bahamas, Rio de Janeiro, Germany and Switzerland, as well as many states in the U.S.
She was an avid football fan and bowler and she continually bake bread for friends and neighbors.
She was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in McCook.
Rosalie is survived by her husband, Lyle Blauvelt; one son, Jay Blauvelt and his wife, Melissia; and one grandson Trevor Bourg, all of McCook; sisters, Arlis Carter of Lincoln, Demarris Carlson of Prescott, Ariz., Dorthea Hoefs and husband, Gary of Arapahoe, and Corinne Haas and husband, Fred of Lincoln; relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at Peace Lutheran Church with the Rev. Randy Wahl officiating. Interment will be in the Arapahoe Cemetery at Arapahoe.
Memorials may be given in her name and friends may call at Herrmann Funeral Home in McCook, until 9 p.m.today.
