Virginia 'Ginny' Ike

OBERLIN -- Virginia "Ginny" Ike, 80 died Saturday ( May 13, 2006), at Decatur County Hospital in Oberlin.
She was born April 26, 1926, in McCook, to Raymond and Bertha Fern (Logan) Alexander and raised in McCook.
On Nov. 4, 1943, she married George Vyron Ike in Oberlin. The couple made their home in McCook until the death of her husband in 1990, when she moved to Oberlin. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Oberlin American Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George V. Ike Sr.; two grandsons, Melvin Cox Jr. at birth and Harold Dean Berry Jr. on July 19, 1994; and one great-granddaughter Dana Jeanine Berry on Jan. 4, 1990.
Survivors include a son, George Ike Jr. and wife, Margret of Lincoln; two daughters, Patricia and husband Harold Berry Sr. of Oberlin and Linda and husband, Melvin Cox of Bennett; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with Deacon Stan Chapin officiating. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in McCook.
Visitation will be 8 a.m. - 8 p.m., Wednesday and 8 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday.
Memorials may be left in her name.
