Pat Bellamy of Max puts a fresh coat of paint on her elephant -- an uncommon lawn ornament on the Golden Plains of Nebraska. Pat said the elephant "just got left here" when her step-granddaughter moved from Benkelman. Now, as Pat and her husband, Bob, plan to move to Valley to be closer to their children in Omaha and Elkhorn, Pat said she has to decide whether to take the elephant with them, sell it at their auction or "just leave it" for someone else to repaint in a couple years.
