He was born in Herndon, Oct.29, 1918, to John L. and Theresa (Toth) Kompus.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
On May 18, 1964, he married Verna Lee Bramer, who preceded him in death on April 1, 1991.
He was a farmer in the Herndon area.
He was a member of St. Mary's Assumption Catholic Church in Herndon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Verna Lee Bramer; three brothers, George Kompus, John Kompus and Albert Kompus; and two sisters, Luella
Solko and Wilma Tongish
He is survived by daughters Mary Ann Camps of Kingston, Wash. and Betty Ann Kompus of Atwood; a son, John C. Kompus and wife, Tami, of Herndon; a sister, Betty and husband, Lloyd Hardon of Goodland, Kan.,; a brother-in-law, Dennis Tongish of Herndon; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Herndon with the Rev. Damion Richards officiating. Burial with military graveside rights provided by the Herndon VFW Post will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Rosary services will be 7 p.m., Tuesday at the church.
Visitation will be today until 9 p.m., and Tuesday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Memorials may be given to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
