Kearney -- H. Irene Davis, 90, of Kearney, formerly of Beaver City, died Wednesday (April 19, 2006) at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
She was born June 11, 1915, at Beaver City, to Ira and Eunice (Lewis) Hester. She grew up in Beaver City and graduated from Beaver City High School with the class of 1933.
She taught country school for five years in the Beaver City area following graduation. She lived in Beaver City for several years and lived in Morrill, Holdrege and Oxford before moving to Kearney in the mid '90s. She moved into St. Luke's in Kearney on Nov. 30, 2001.
She attended Faith United Methodist Church in Kearney.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Geln and Carl; a sister, Doris Marshall; and a grandson, Dirk Ira Davis.
Survivors include a son, Roy Davis of Kingsville, Texas; one sister, Evelyn Cotton of Morrill; one granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Saturday, 10:30 a.m, at Mount Hope Cemetery at Beaver City, with the Rev. Dwain Fowler officiating.
Viewing and visitation will be prior to the services at the cemetery.
