Lexington won the team title with a 353 score, followed by Lexington 358 and Kearney 366. Oberlin was 13th with a 413 score.

Lexington's Nate Jaeger was the lone golfer breaking 80 because of the gusty wind conditions. He won the tournament with a 76.

Sidney's Tom Leininger was second with an 83.

"I did not get a chance to talk to the players today, but when I did, it was about some of the things that the wind did to the golf ball," said McCook boys golf coach Dan Hilton. "Many talked about putting and the wind just takes the ball off of the green. Also, they said that some of the putts broke up hill because of the wind blowing them.

"It was just not a very nice day to play golf. I admire not only our golfers, but all of the kids that spent the day on the golf course. It was had to tell if they were having a good day or a bad day because of the way the wind affected shots.

"Of the 80 golfers we had today, only one broke 80 and I know that we had some golfers on the course that will very seldom shoot as high as their scores were today. I thought the team scores, even thought they look high, were very respectable today."
