St. Francis -- Melivia Naomi Penn, 81, formerly of Benkelman died Monday (April 10, 2006) at the Good Samaritan Village in St. Francis.

She was born June 18, 1924 in Lamar, Colo.

She retired from the Nebraska State Patrol.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Penn in 1976; a grandson, David Penn; and a great grandson Michael Penn.

Survivors include sons, Danny Penn, of St. Francis and Eldon and wife, Freida Penn of Yukon, Okla.; brothers, Clifford Oakley of McCook, and Wayne Oakley of Englewood, Colo.; one sister, Eulala Steward of Benkelman; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. (MDT), Friday at Forch Funeral Home in Benkelman. Interment will be in the Benkelman Cemetery.

Visitation will be today until 7 p.m. at Knodel Funeral Home at 202 South Benton, St. Francis, Kan., 67756.
