ATWOOD -- Mary L. (Makings) Bliss, 84, died Friday (April 7, 2006), at the North Suburban Medical Center in Thornton, Colo.
She was born Sept. 19, 1921, on a farm in Rawlins County to Frank and Nellie (Palmer) Makings.
She married Wilbur Cyril Bliss on Sept. 6, 1939, in Oberlin and set up housekeeping in Atwood.
The couple lived their entire lives in Atwood. She worked as a cook in the grade school lunch room.
She was a member of the Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cyril; daughter Kimberly Jo; daughter-in-law Catherine; brothers, Charles, Leslie, Roy, Clifford and Dale and sisters Nelma Lavell, Ida Shipley and Irene Kendrick; and granddaughter, Brook.
Survivors include her sons, Larry and wife, Sheryl of Northglenn, Colo., Ronald and wife Janie of Maize, Kan., Roger of Colby, Kan., Fred and wife, Joanna of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Bob and wife, Margo of San Diego, Calif.; daughters, Mary Jean Williams and husband, Phil of Tonganoxie, Kan., Nancy McBride of Albequerque, N.M., Lori Forrester and husband, Matt of Salina, Kan.; 23 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, at the Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Atwood with the Rev. Christina Edwards officiating. Interment will be in Atwood Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation will be today until 8 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home of Atwood and after 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, at the church.
