McPHERSON, Kan. -- Annette Pearl Wood, 81, died Friday (March 24, 2006), at Memorial Hospital in McPherson, Kan.
She was born Aug. 2, 1924, at Sterling, Colo., to Glenn and Bertha V. (Holtzman) McBride. She graduated from Oberlin High School in 1942.
On Oct. 24, 1942, she married Francis Lee "Bill" Wood at Oberlin.
She was a homemaker and worked as a secretary at the Red Willow County Courthouse. She also worked as the Methodist Church secretary and for Farm Bureau Insurance in Hill City, Kan., Norton Dry Cleaners and Farm Bureau Insurance in Norton. and was co-owner/operator with her husband in "Old Time Photo's by Wood."
She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge of Hill City.
She was a member of New Life Foursquare Gospel Church in McPherson. She was a former member of the Lutheran Church in Hill City and Norton, the Southern Baptist Church in Hill City and Grace Bible Church in McPherson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Wood of McPherson; two daughters, Frances Lee Ann and husband, Gerry Schaben of Seward and Marcia Annette Weiland of McPherson; eight grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday, 10 a.m., at New Life Foursquare Gospel Church in McPherson with the Rev. Chuck Baker officiating. Graveside services will be Tuesday, 4 p.m., at the Hill City Cemetery at Hill City.
Visitation is today, 3-8 p.m., at Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home. The family will be present from 6-8 p.m.
