Tim Lytle, McCook, left center, moves snow on his sidewalk with a snow blower, while his neighbor, Jerry Reitz, attacks the driveway with a backhoe. Southwest Nebraska and Northwest Kansas residents found themselves this morning under 9 inches to a foot or more of very wet, heavy snow dumped by a storm out of the east Sunday and Monday. Clearing snow from sidewalks is easy for Tony Spilinek, above right, with an ATV equipped with a blade. Family members, top, pitch in and help Carol Bortner shovel snow off her sidewalks and driveway. They are, from left, Doug Terry, Jake Fahrenbruck, Coy Terry and Brian Fahrenbruck. The collapsed awning, above left, at Precision PC on Norris Avenue shows the effects of the wet, heavy snow.
