WAUNETA -- Anna Marie (Tepley) Cooper, 82, died Tuesday (March 7, 2006) at the Chase County Community Hospital in Imperial.
She was born Jan. 28, 1924, to Jack Frank and Mary Catherine (Volzaba) Tepley on the family farm northeast of Wauneta on the Stinking Water Creek.
She married William "Bill" Cooper at St. John's Catholic Church in Wauneta on March 14, 1946. The couple made their home on a farm northwest of Hayes Center until moving to Hamlet in 1974. She moved to Heritage Home of Wauneta in late 2005.
She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Palisade. She was a 4-H leader and was on the Hamlet Village Board and the Meals on Wheels Citizens Board. She was a charter member and treasurer of the Palisade VFW Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill in 1996; her parents; brothers, Wilbur and Leonard; and sisters, Mae Graham and Eva Ambrosek.
Survivors include her children, Linda "Lynn" and husband, Roger Kolbet of Culbertson, Carol and husband, Robert "Bob" Stensvad of McCook and Monte Cooper and wife, Karleen of Palisade; brother, Jake Tepley and wife, Lillian of Elsie; brother-in-law, Loren Draper of Imperial; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Mass will be Saturday, 10 a.m. MT, at St. John's Catholic Church in Wauneta with the Rev. Greg Pawloski officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Wauneta.
Rosary will be today, 7 p.m. MT, at the church in Wauneta. Visitation will be today, until 6 p.m. MT, at Liewer Funeral Home in Wauneta.
