CAMBRIDGE -- Robert P. Miller, 78, died Saturday (Feb. 25, 2006) at his home in Cambridge.
He was born July 16, 1927, near Cambridge to Palmer G. and O. Mildred (Cotton) Miller. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1945.
In November 1945, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving until February 1947.
He married Donna Johnson in Cambridge on Jan. 15, 1949.
He was a farmer.
He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and Cambridge American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna in 1985; three brothers, Gerald in infancy, Howard and Rolland "Red"; and a sister, Shirley Wright.
Survivors include four daughters, Claudia and husband, Dean Shaffer of Lincoln, Pamela and husband, Larry Maatsch of Cambridge, Marilyn and husband, Phillip Luna of North Platte and Melanie and husband, Waldo Smith of Burwell; three sons, Jim and wife, Pam Miller of Alma and Kim and wife, Kathy Miller and Mark and wife, Brenda Miller, all of Cambridge; a brother, Richard and wife, Kathy of Cambridge; a brother-in-law, Dick Wright of Fleming, Colo.; two sisters-in-law, Carol Miller of Arvada, Colo., and Eunice Miller of Cambridge; 22 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Cambridge with the Rev. David Rowe officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Cambridge. Military committal will be given by the Cambridge American Legion Post.
Memorials are being accepted in his name at the Furnas County American Cancer Fund, Good Samaritan Hospice or the Trinity United Methodist Church.
