Season concludes for Bison
KEARNEY -- The McCook Bison boys basketball team finished its season after falling to Lexington 66-43 Saturday in a first-round game at the Nebraska Class B-5 district tournament.
The game was played at the University of Nebraska-Kearney Health and Sports Center.
Seniors Brandon Crick and Joel Arterburn led the Bison in scoring.
Crick tallied 9 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.
Arterburn followed with 8 points. Josh Cherry had 6 points and 6 rebounds.
Other senior players playing in their final games in a Bison uniform were Garrett Rippen and Joel Putz with 4 points each and Tony Purvis with 2.
Jacob Zlatkovsky led Lexington with 21 points. Nathan Jaeger followed with 16 points.
Lexington will play Holdrege at 6 p.m. in the B5 district semifinals.
