Phillipsburg hands loss to Oberlin boys

PHILLIPSBURG -- The Decatur Community-Oberlin boys basketball team came out on the short end of a 65-60 decision Tuesday at Phillpsburg.

Phillipsburg scored 46 of its 65 points in the second half, including a 26-14 third quarter.

Oberlin led at halftime 29-19.

"It was a tale of two halves -- slow tempo in the first half and quick tempo the second half," said Oberlin coach Dick Ahlberg. "Phillipsburg used its quickness and athleticism to force turnovers."

Oberlin outrebounded Phillipsburg 36-28 but was forced into 24 turnovers.

Andy Inman led Oberlin with 24 points, followed by Jesse Juenemann with 16. Teryn Grafel scored 8 points.

Inman pulled down 9 rebounds, Juenemann 8, Nolan May 8 and Grafel 7. Logan Fortin dished off 5 assists, Grafel 3 and Inman 3. Juenemann had 3 steals and Grafel 2.

Phillipsburg improved to 10-9 and Oberlin dropped to 5-15.
