Weber to coach East volleyball team at W. Neb. All-Star Match

SCOTTBLUFF -- McCook High School's Krystal Weber was chosen to be the head coach for the East team at the 22nd annual West Nebraska All-Star Volleyball Match June 3 at Scottsbluff.

The match starts at 2 p.m. MT and will be played at the Cougar Palace on the campus of Western Nebraska Community College.

Weber coached the Bison to a 17-15 record in 2005. McCook lost to Grand Island Northwest in the Class B-5 district finals.

Weber will be assisted by Thedford's Sarah Wilson.

The West team will be coached by Ogallala's Steve Morgan. He will be assisted by Bridgeport's Vance Stott.

This is Morgan's third apperance as a head coach in the game.

This past season, Morgan led Ogallala to a 23-9 record. The Indians lost to Scottsbluff in the B-6 finals.

The coaches for the 29th annual West Nebraska All-Star Football Game have also been selected.

The game is slated for June 3 at Scottsbluff. Kickoff is 7 p.m. at Bearcat Stadium.

Gothenburg's Craig Haake will be the head coach for the East team. He will be assisted by North Platte's Todd Rice, Sutherland's Matt Springer and Wallace's Craig Lorenz.

The West team will be coached by Chadron's Jay Rhoades. He will be assisted by Gering's Tom O'Boyle, Scottsbluff's Derek Deaver and Morrill's Tom Peacock.
